I have lived here since 1985, with occassional six month gaps while cruising asea. (Not the pleasure kind of cruise either.)

Having grown up on Long Island, I have never been very far from the ocean, and this place fits me well. We are only couple of hours from snow sking, less than that from some of the most beautiful camping grounds, and of course we are minutes away from the ocean front and the Carolina Outer Banks. Not to mention that we are in the heart of our country's history. From our first colony, through our struggle for independance and our dark period of dis-unity.

This area offers incredible dining opportunities, (being married to a chef and having formal culinary training I feel makes me a good judge), a good night life for all age groups, healthy family style attractions, a rapidly growing golf trail and of course excellant beaches.
