Osaka is to me....

by yukisanto - last update: Dec 28, 2006

Domtobori street

A shopping town...

Okie.. being a Singaporean, I can never resist the lure of shops.. There's so much knick-knacks and interesting stuff to look and buy. And there's' so many shopping streets and malls that I never did had the time to go around every shop.

Taka was the one mall we could not miss. Asked some Singaporeans for direction since we saw them having the taka shopping bag with the Burberry Blue Label.. haha.. we bought the same stuff.. lol

Clubbing!

We went to Osaka to club as well. One of the clubs near the Osaka station. It was a ladies night, so we didn't have to pay. The people there dressed up, unlike in Singapore. I guess when you are a regular clubber like me, you tend to dress down more since it's like you go there so often they know you.

They were playing reggae and hip hop that night. Good music for an hour or so, boring if it's the whole night. I ended up more of people watching rather than being on the dance floor myself. The crowd's there a tad too touchy (for the guys) and pushy/rude (for the gals) for my taste.

Saza*E had 3 floors. The first is the dancefloor, the second is the bar area where you can also look down onto the ground floor, and the third floor is its own world with a mini pool (the water kind - they have foam parties occasionally) and chill out enviro complete with a more mature yuppie crowd and chill out music.

the tunnel under the sea to the maritime museum

All the usual tourist sites...

Of course we went to Osaka Castle, which was really nothing much butfor a modern museum with a castle exterior. Then there's the maritime museum, which was not much as well. The only highlight was this tunnel which you had to cross under the sea to reach the museum and there were glass in the ceiling so that you can see through to the sea and hopefully spot a fish or two swimming past above you in the tunnel.

Other places we went was the zoo. Not spectacular, but was really interesting to see a zoo in temperate climate compared to the one we had. I sure don't get to see penguins in an open enclosure back home where it's sweltering hot everyday.
