A must see when going to Venice I looked and looked through VT for someone to give me the information about Murano, Glass,Beads. So I went there myself and this is what I have to offer. I recommend asking your hotel in Venice if they have the free tour boat to Murano. If they do , they will send a guide to meet you and take you near the Rialto Bridge. Then you will sail off through the canels of Venice. It is a great welcoming present early in the morning. They will drop you off in front of a glass factory and you will need to tour the factory for 1/2-1 hour depending on how interested you are. Then you are let go without too much high pressure sales. Then it is off to explore the rest of Murano with all the little shops that have glass too. |
| | Family of Glass Blowers These are the men who work the factories all of their lives. They are fathers and sons who have learned the craft starting at a young age. There is a mix of tradtional glass vessels right along side new modern ideas as well. |
