Aspen on the Cheap | Silver Queen Gondola on Aspen Mountain |
There are lots of ways to enjoy Aspen with just a little money. First of all, the natural beauty all around is completely free! There are numerous hiking trails that are accessible from the town. You can hike up Aspen mountain and take the gondola back down for free (it's $18 in the summer to go up!). During the summer, the Aspen Music Festival draws great musicians to town; some students give sidewalk performances all around. You can even sit outside the music tent and listen to performances that others have paid hundreds of dollars to attend! My favorite free pastime is people-watching and Aspen is one of the best places in the world for that! |

Callavetta Mon Feb 13, 2006 19:26 UTC Great hotel tip! Thanks. It always helps to visit Aspen in the summer. Or in Fall when the leaves are changing and Independence Pass is gorgeous! |
