"Whale-watching in Digby" Digby by King_Golo

A great thing to do near Digby, a small town in Northwest Nova Scotia, is to go whale-watching. I had heard so many interesting stories about whales in this area and people who had actually seen them in a distance of like 5m so that I decided even before I entered Canadian territory that I would go for a whale-watching cruise some time during my trip. Digby was my place of choice. On a cloudy day I drove to Digby Neck, a long peninsula where conditions for whale-watching are said to be perfect. Whales very much enjoy the enormously high tides in the Bay of Fundy because they whirl up the krill, their favourite food. Well, it looks like conditions are indeed perfect - our group saw 7 whales, humpbacks and finbacks.
Apart from whale-watching, Digby offers quite some things to do despite its small town character. Check out my tips for more.

Felt very envious of your whale watching off Digby. We saw whales off the NS coasts but never Humpbacks as close as you saw them. We'll have to go back! Thanks for the memories. Mike
