A few months ago, somebody sent me this link to a website which attempts to capture the manifold facets of Vietnam's beauty in a 3 minute song. While this of course is far too short to get a real insight into Vietnam, it still helps to get a first glimpse of what will await you there. In my eyes, Vietnam is one of the most beautiful places on earth: an incredibly friendly people, breathtaking natural sights, vibrant cities, the countryside with its many facets of rural life, a large variety of tasty foods, the pleasure of enjoying a lemon juice when the temperatures have finally dropped below 30°C, the adventurous rides on a motorbike in Hanoi's never-ending traffic, the hustle and bustle on the numerous markets, the spirit of Buddhism in the temples and pagodas... Having lived in Hanoi for half a year and revisited the city and many other places just yet (September 2008), I invite you to take a look at my pages which I hope will provide you with some off-the-beaten-path tips and hints. If you have any questions, considering the country, feel free to send me a mail. I'll try my best to help you. |

Bonjour Vietnam by Pham Quynh Anh / Marc Lavoine
