Ulm: Home of the highest church spire of the world

by King_Golo - last update: Jun 18, 2006

Inside the Ulm Cathedral
There's a famous German tongue-twister about Ulm: It reads "In Ulm und um Ulm und um Ulm herum" If you can pronounce it without mistakes you're either German or very good in German... If you want to know what it is about, climb the highest church spire of the world, situated in Ulm. Ulm's cathedral is 161m high and thereby exceeds all other churches in the world. The cathedral is furthermore the second-largest Gothic church in Germany (only the Dome church of Cologne is larger). All in all, Ulm is worth a visit alone for the church spire. Apart from that, a nice Old Town and a beautiful walking and cycling path near River Danube are worth seeing, too.

In A Nutshell:"In Ulm und um Ulm und um Ulm herum!"

I think you should add that, also if you speak German, you'll understand NOTHING of what people say...despite of it, I loved Ulm, too!!!!
