Bordeaux is a wonderful place in southwest France which I had the pleasure to discover during a 4-week French language summer course. Known first and foremost for its high-quality wines, the city of roughly 500,000 inhabitants has much more to offer: streets lined with impressive 18th century houses, cosy cafes and good shops, the quais with their breath-taking views on the city at night, an active nightlife and lots more. However, the wine is predominant everywhere. A visit to Bordeaux would not be complete without a wine tasting and a visit to one of the châteaux in the city's vicinity.

Now that I know about VCUB I definitely want to go to Bordeaux! I use the Vélib’ system extensively every time I go to Paris, and last spring I had a great week in Lyon on the Vélo'v bikes.
