Enchanting City By The Bay

Unique City

Cargo Ship In The Fog With Alcatraz
After going to several National Parks and Monterey to watch Humpback whales, I decided to go back to San Francisco. We had to catch our flight out of SFO the next morning.

Lots of traffic. This is another case where if I knew somebody in the city, I would have had a nicer visit. Heck, I flew into S F and out. I did have a little bit of an agenda though. I wanted to drive over the Golden Gate Bridge, visit Fisherman's Wharf and ride the Cable Cars.

We drove up from Monterey on Highway 1. It was too crowded. Lots of crazy drivers and only one person in each vehicle. The coast line was beautiful except when we were about 60 miles South of San Francisco. There was a marine layer of clouds that made seeing the coast and Pacific Ocean difficult to see.
Golden Gate Bridge, Caro Ship And Fog

Golden Gate Bridge

Naturally it was around 5 in the afternoon and traffic was tough. I wanted to go over the Golden Gate Bridge. There was intermittent fog and I couldn't see the S F skyline well. It was nice at the toll booth to receive step by step directions to Fisherman's Wharf.

I've been to Alcatraz in the 1970's so I didn't need to see that again.

It's all about how much time a person has.
We ate at the Wharf, and I wanted to see the cable cars. It was too far and it was starting to got dark.
Lots Of Seafood On The Wharf

Fisherman's Wharf

When we got back to our car I saw a $50.00 ticket on my windshield. There wasn't an attendant and the arm was up, so we parked there. Watch out where you park.

I would like to go back to San Francisco again when I have more time. Depending upon the weather, it can be a unique city indeed.
