Everybody knows Assisi. If not, you have to go there, definitely. Go for a week, go for a month, go for a day or also for an hour, but you cannot miss it. Ok, it will be very crowded during every hour of the day BUT IT IS USUALLY VERY QUIET after dinner, where you can meet also the few people living in its centre walking with their dogs. Of course you have to visit the Basilica (two churches in one) but do not miss to walk every streets, also not the main streets. It is full of surprise. Please avoid like the pest all gadgets-souvenirs shops.
- Pros:a very high concentration of art masterpieces
- Cons:too many tourists during the day, especially in basilica
- In a nutshell:you cannot miss it

We stayed here a few days on our trip in 2001 and loved it of course; especially as at the time it was not too crowded and we made friends with a local and had a fabulous dinner and evening in their home!

Excellent description of the agriturismo with honest insights and evaluations.
Unfortunately I haven`t been to Assisi so far - nice pictures and a very good accomodation tip!
