"Visit Civita di Bagnoregio" Bagnoregio by PALLINA

Unexplored jewel

The tiny, hill-top medioeval town of Civita di Bagnoregio lies in a picturesque area of tufa ravines; in fact it is also called the dying town because the continuos erosion of its hill has caused the collapse of many buildings. Abandoned by its original resident population, who moved to the newer Reinassance counterpart Bagnoregio, most of the houses have been recently bought by foreigners and artisans. If you can choose, go there in the late afternoon. Less people and beautiful light.
