Getting TO/AROUND: One way of getting from Ciampino Airport to the city centre is on the terravision bus. It is available if you are flying with certain airlines (listed on the website) and takes you directly from the airport to Termini for 8 euros. It's not as cheap as getting the ordinary bus/metro but with luggage in tow we found the price difference was worth it. You can book your ticket on at the desk on arrival at the airport by showing proof that you have flown in on one of the selected airlines (boarding card/booking reference). The journey itself takes around 40 minutes, it took us a little longer though because they loaded us on and off three coaches before getting us on the right one - still, gave us a good laugh.

When you arrive at Termini it's possible to get a taxi to your hotel - be careful to get a real taxi though as there are quite a few unscrupulous rip off merchants about. Always agree a price with the driver before getting into the taxi.

Getting TO/AROUND: If you use Ciampino airport, a good book is a must for your handluggage. This is one of the most boring airports I have ever visited. There is little or nothing to do, and the seats are sparse and uncomfortable. We didn't try any of the food as we had our own food with us but none of what we saw looked particularly appetising.
