Getting TO/AROUND: Ok! To you seasoned travelers that know it all this may seem obvious, but to the newcomer it can be a tough lesion. Taxi v Train into Rome. When you have jumped on a plane in Australia and your heading to Europe for the first time the excitement can be too much. Well by the time you have arrived and had one stop over and you are looking at 30 hours of free alcohol….well….. you can’t be blamed if you make a bad decision. Do not! arrive at the airport just jump into a cab… the airports are not as close to the city. Look for the train station at the airport find what looks like a ATM but is a ticket machine. It is a touch screen so push the Union Jack for English. The ticket machines will know where you are departing from and there is an express train to Rome. Many people have made this mistake, the train is fast and still takes around 30 minutes to get to Rome. Buy your self a Birra Moretti with the money you just saved.
