San Vito Lo Capo is a beach holiday resort type town 45km north of Trapani on the north west coast of Sicily. There is one long impressive beach with a stretch of hotels overlooking it separated by a road. The town is home to the Cous Cous festival, which happens around early September. (Check this as I just missed it in 2003) The festival is very popular and accommodation is at a premium during this time. You can always get a very good meal there outside of the festival at one of the many permanent restaurants but this town is geared up for tourists and is not for the budget traveler. Of course that is all comparative as Sicily is not Northern Italy.
