Vernazza is the fourth village traveling north along the Cinque Terre trail or the second heading south. I found the accommodation easy to find here and affordable with view. (see tip) The weather was fantastic for our walk but turned over night and you never get to see shots of bad weather from beautiful places like this. Look at the wave crashing over the sea wall behind the cat it's about 14 foot high (the wave). We had a great time here meeting people and a few good meals.

Jeff, thanks so much for the fantastic accomodation tip - we just returned from Vernazza and had the best time!!! And the terrazza absolutely was one of the highlights!!! So thanks again!

Good warning at Vernazza. I sat at that very spot and talked to locals who were weary of the sea even on a calm day. Baby tsunami's can be deadly in those areas.
