MARCHÉ JEAN TALON: A BEAUTIFUL MARKET IN MONTREAL

I have always liked going to fairs and public market everywhere I go. Jean Talon in Montreal, the Rastro in Madrid, the San Telmo Fair in Buenos Aires, and the Tristan Navarra in Montevideo, the Fair of Itambé in Pernambuco or even the Feira do Nordeste in Rio.

Jean Talon Market maybe got this name because of a famous french Intendent which ruled the Quebec between 1665-1672. He was a highly respected man, and loved by many, yet he was never married, hehehe :)

Jean Talon, comte d'Orsainville was a man of vision, he attempted to diversify the colony's economy by encouraging AGRICULTURE, fishing, lumbering, and industry as well as the traditional fur trade.

What to buy: You can buy all kind of fruits and vegetables, and wonderful cheese, some of the best bakeries in Montreal are situated there! There is also a subway station with the same name if you want to reach the market!

What to pay: Generally the goods are quite cheap!;)
