MISSION ACOMPLISHED IN MISIONES

by RafaelTheSecond - last update: Sep 3, 2005

AWAY FROM THE FALLS BUT IN THE WATER

Rafael in Lake Urugua-i
In the brazilian side, in the paraguayan side and even in the argentinean side, they were all guarani...And some places have guaranani names, such as Urugua-i...Not Uruguay...But Urugua-i..It was hot and I wanted to swim in some natutal spot in the wonderful province of Misiones, one of the wildest regions of Argentina, not so far from the limits of with Brazil.

MISIONES - They say LA AVENTURA DE VIVIR, and it is like, making your life an adventure in Misiones, indeed it is a province that breaths adventures, it has the strengh of the waters in the Iguazu, it has thick jungles, long rivers and lots of spanish and indian heritage...There are many different things to do in Misiones, and I am a big fan of this argentinean part of the continent.

The region is all surrounded by long rivers such as Iguazú in the north, el Paraná in the east, el Pepirí Guazú y el Uruguay in the west and the Chimiray in the south.

Misiones has a long history with the spanish priest Jesuitas (The company of Jesus) and the local indias Guarani and Tupis, and you can fidn there imrpessive ruins in an area called San Ignacio, Loreto and Candelaria. And incredible waterfalls in Tabay and Puerto Oasis.

Andresito not so far from the brazilian side offers river beaches and great barbecue restaurants!

Come and enjoy Misiones, you will be equally impressed...
