Hey..If you want to understand one of the reasons of Tango, you really should to go south and find this very interesting place...LA BOCA is a very poor neighborhood, but it used to be one of the most bohemian places in the city in the old times....Many Tango composers used to perform in the little taverns and tango house that still remains here, and there is a famnous street called Caminito that every step is a revival! Colourful houses which they call CONVENTILLOS are still there...food are remarkable and the little art crafts stores and the vendors are an invitation for your pockets! Sep 15th, 2005

It is an incredible mile-long pedestrian mall, popular for its gem, leather and fur stores. Also where you can see the locals mixing with foreigners, it is a real Babilonia, I like walking there to see the new cds and the book shops, it is also the street where you can find the beautiful Pacifico Shopping Center. Steve had taken this picture, though he does not like dealing with cameras, taking a picture of him is harder than climbing the Everest mountain, but I do have some pictures of him, hehehehe Sep 21, 2005

Right in the microcentro of the city you can find a very important landmark...a goverment house that witnessed the countryºs independence from Spain in 1810. It was constructed in 1764, and it was bigger than it is now, part of the building was cut to create Bolivar and Mayo Street. The Mayo street starts at the Argentinean Congress and ends at Mayo Square. It is important to go to Cabildo because you can understand more about the brave history of the country, inside the Cabildo there is a lovely art crafts square! Sep 15th, 2005

Most of the most important names in Argentina which made history are buried there...so you really have to go their and see their tombs...The Mausoleos are pure art work, and the cemetery is there since 1822. The graveyard has the name of the whole neighborhood, thanks to and old conventry called Convento de los Padres Recoletos. All the Presidents are burried there like Rosas, Sarmiento..and the richest families too, among them in the Duarte Mausoleo, you will say hallo to Evita, just like I did twice in my life. Recoleta graveyard is considered the most important in the country because of the architecture of its monuments and vaults, of which, more than seventy have been declared National Historic Monuments. I remember having this same picture 11 years ago! There is also nice restaurants around, a cool cultural centre which used to be a hospital, and a seniors house, now this big complex is part of the Design Association of Buenos Aires, there is also a nice church called Nuestra Señora del Pilar dated 1732.
