|
Name of Shop: DOWNTOWN
It is an outdoor shopping center, completely different from all malls we have in the city...It is not in the city centre of rio, it is located in the west pat of the town. Barra da Tijuca is a big ditrict of Rio, atually it offers many options and a wonderful beach. this is also the place where cariocas with rich pockets are moving, searching for best quality of life. Indeed, you really have many different things to do. Have you ever seen a shopping mall with corners, streets and squares??? A place with more than 1300 stores... 12 great cinemas rooms and a place which holds many best restaurants in the city????? There is also a big private university where students can have all the best education, and after the class, we all can have fun in the bars in such a light and spectacular ambience full of trees???
What To Buy: You can find everything at DownTown, it is really a great option for shopping...you really should visit everything!;) TO GET THERE: There are two main avenues in Barra da tijuca, the one which follows the beach, Ayrton Senna, and the one which cross the district in the back yards, it is an express way called Americas Avenue..When you see a rounded church, keep your right, and you will see a huge city in the right side of the pavement...it is right beside another shopping center called CITTÁ AMERICA!;)
What To Pay: It is a well off place but absolutely possible for every budget, what they want is impressing you with good taste, confort and pleasure!

Name of Shop: PÃO DE AÇUCAR GROCERY AGAIN
The Grocery is very well located, it is in the end of Copacabana beach, one block from the coast, and it is not so far from Ipanema! I also took some photos inside of the grocery, note, it is VERY forbidden to take pictures, but these digital cameras with no flash performs miracles, don't you think???? As you can see the place is complete and something important, it is a LOCAL ENVIROMENT...IT MEANS..NO TOURIST PRICES!!!! There are place s where they charge double when they realize you are an outsider!!! IT NEVER HAPPENS IN LOCAL GROCERIES IN RIO!!! :) So keep that in mind...Local Groceries are the best optios for some small shoppings!;) June 19th, 2006
