Hot & Spicy Flying in I could see the heat and it just looked so isolated. I cried when we flew out - watching the sun set over the Red Sea and feeling like I'd never see anything this beautiful again. I loved everything about Egypt - The people are quick witted and are even funny when they don't mean to be - I loved it when they started arguing over something stupid - This one guy was talking to us English while his mate was tapping a rythym on the desk behind - he stopped mid-sentence and threw a torrent of Arabic abuse at the guy and then carried on talking to us without drawing breath. I creased! |

Naama Bay This place is sooooooo much fun! It's lit up like Christmas and sings like a party! This is bright fairy lights decorating shops, restaurants and bars and they all sprung up just for you! Everyone is your friend here (if only because they want you to spend your money - but if you don't want to spend money why go to the Shops???) and they will shout for you, grab at your hand, follow you down the street and offer various pledges in return for your sister's hand in marriage (nice try guys - that's my Mam!!!) I know some people are intimidated or offended by this behaviour - on her return from Naama Bay one of my friends exclaimed she had never been so scared in her life. But personnally, I love it! Buying anything takes about three hours because the vendor wants to know your entire life story before a trade takes place and will gladly offer insight to his own lifestyle - One guy in his twenties was particually frank about his Naama Bay lifestyle and offered to show us his global girlfriend collection! I know it's not the REAL Egypt and there's a bar devoted to making each nationality feel at home....... but that's what's so nice about it..... It's like the VT website - everyone who talks to you is interested in where you live and where you've been because they've never been there and they want to imagine the differences. Does that make sense? Or am I rambling again? |
