suco bars or juice bars are everywhere in rio. the ones i went to were in copacabana and centro. if you are on a budget or are planning on eating light, come to any of these juice bars for a sandwich, pasteis, slice of pizza, hotdog, or whatever snacks they serve, and get a glass of juice which is very good. i did this almost every day to save money.

throughout rio you will see restaurants that say A Kilo. these are good buffets where you weight your food and then pay
here's how it works:
when you walk in someone will give you a card. you keep the card and get your plate and get whatever you want on your plate. then you bring your plate and your card to the cashier in the buffet area and they will weigh your food and write down the price. if you order drinks, they'll mark your card at your table. if you want seconds you can get it and go to the weigher again and theyll stamp your card again. when you're done you go the main cashier and they will calculate the total. for myself i never spent more than $10. the quality and quantity is much better for the price compared to the US buffets.
