Zoes Traveling Tales

by zoe_18 - last update: Apr 29, 2005

Im lucky to have seen what I have.........

Well Im 18 years old and I have a head for travelling. I am lucky that I have seen so many places for the age I am. I spent two summers in the state of Maine, 2 hours north of Boston. I spent 6 weeks a summer with host family. My family was based in Portland - the capital of Maine. Maine is a beautiful state in New England. I was lucky enough to be able to experience city life and countryside here. My family took me to Canada for a few days. Montreal was such a fascinating city - there was so much to do. I even got to use my French skills (if that's what you call it hehe). I then travelled to Thailand and Malaysia back in December/January of 2002/03. I took part in the world Jamboree with 35,000 other people of my own age from over 150 countries. We spent the first few days in the Ambassador Resort in Bangkok, this is where we celebrated Christmas Day and Boxing Day. They had a huge party in the Royal Cliff Resort in Pattaya - a couple of people might have stayed here. Then we moved onto Sattahip where we spent 12 days, experiencing and learning achothers way of life. Here is where I had the best New Years I think I will ever have. The atmosphere was 35.000 was out of this world. We then travelled onto Malaysia where we stayed in Port Dickson a couple of hours outside Kuala Lumpar. KL was amazing - my personal highlight was walking over the sky view tower that connects the two KL twin towers. They are now the tallest standing towers since September the 11th. I have been to Turkey about 6 times - Cesme, Althinkum and Gumbet. Im going back to Gumbet this July for two weeks and cant wait. I have also been to Majorca and Lanzarote.

What I want to do before Im 30 .....

I have a wish list - to visit the following places by the time I die, but theers an exception to one - Brazil, I want to go here before Im 30.

* Australia - the land down under, the land of kangaroos and wallabys. I have family in Melbourne and friends in Sydney - so I have no excuse not to visit here. I want to see Sydney opera house, and see the colours change on Ayers Rock, and swim teh Great Barrier Reef.

* Go on a safari in Kenya. I want to go wildlife viewing here in this beautiful country. Maybe even take a ballon safari.

* Brazil - this is the place I want to go without a doubt. This is home to sugar loaf mountain, caraivals and Christ the Redeemer. I know this country has alot of bad publicity due to its drug dealing and stuff BUT I really really want to go here.

* St Lucia - even the name sounds beautiful. they say this is a photographers delight. I would love to spend a few weeks on its sun kissed beaches. full of tropical forests, lush montains and volcanic peaks.

* China - and have my picture took on the great wall of China. And make a stop over to Hong Kong.

These are the 4 places Im going to try my hardest to visit before Im 30 or before I die :-)

Any suggestions would be great - thank you!!
