"Gatlinburg in the Fall Time!" Gatlinburg by HotRodEtte

There's no place like Gatlinburg in the fall...lovely colors in the Smokies and great weather for those of us that are already cooling off in the north! My fiance and I visited a few days and were amazed by the breathtaking views of the Smoky Mountains and the colors of the leaves in the park.

I was 8 years old the last time I visited this town and naturally, 28 years later, don't remember it being this touristy!! There are huge crowds along the streets so be patient with them - however we never waited in any long lines. Going in the fall was nice; still a lot of kids, but not nearly as many as there would be during the summer.

• Pros:Great hotel prices, friendly staff, English speaking vendors, lovely views, plenty to do
• Cons:Zillions of tourists, large crowds, high volume traffic
