Edison Hotel South Beach (960 Ocean Drive ): At the Center of the Action Nicky O South Beach Review

The Edison is a modern-esqe and quaint hotel right on Ocean Drive in the center of it all. Given the location, the prices were fair and decent and the hotel itself comfortable with a modern southwest-type decor. The rooms were a bit small, but being South Beach, the size of the room definitely was not a factor in our weekend at this party mecca.

Unique Qualities: The water in the pool was a fabulous warm temperature, and a Planet Hollywood was located right inside, with outdoor seating as well. It got busy in the evening, riddled with the good looking people on their way out on the town. We were located directly across from the beach and with our location being right on the strip, it was a great place to just sit and people watch.

Royal Hotel: Art Deco on Washington Dr. Royal South Beach Hotel Review

We had a great stay, but be aware if traveling with friends or anyone other than a spouse or significant other, all rooms only have one bed. My friend is weird about sharing a bed with her female friends but with the marble floor, that compromised the weirdness & we were forced to share the bed. Very small, but homey rooms and cool furniture! Only 2 blocks from Ocean Drive.

Unique Qualities: There was no pool here, which bummed us out since we were forced to steer clear of the rough and tough Hip Hop crowd, but the atmosphere was still pleasing and we enjoyed our stay. The marble floor and interesting art deco furniture made it a unique experience.
