One of "Crazy King Ludwig's" castles

by coopaloop - last update: May 3, 2005

The fountain out front of Linderhof
Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau are the most famous of Ludwig's castles... many people don't know about Linderhof. It was Ludwig's "hunting lodge", complete with a Middle Eastern-themed tea-room nearby and an artificial grotto constructed especially for the performances of Wagner's operas. (yeah, they were lovers). The grotto was the first recipient of electricity in Bavaria. The gaudiness of all the rooms is astounding! Eeek!
