I spent last weekend with a group of friends at Chesterman Beach in Tofino.
I wondered why I had stayed away for so long. We were fortunate enough to have accommodation right on the beach.
The view was outstanding. The surf was high at times and we saw surfers riding the waves.
There are bays and it is fun to walk along the edge of the water and revel in nature that is very much unspoiled.

Tofino is on the west coast of Vancouver Island on the edge of the Pacific Rim.

The ocean is a fascinating thing because it is always changing. The picture below shows what an awesome place Chesterman Beach is. We walked there and it was lovely. We met many doing the same thing and also saw surfers in wetsuits waiting for the big one.

The beach is a wonderful place to walk. In the picture below, we are walking toward the famous Wikanninish Inn which you can see in the distance. The beach is a great leveller. It takes no money to use it and there is no distinction between the rich and the poor, the old and the young. We saw all ages walking, from the elderly to young moms pushing strollers. There are a couple of places where a person can walk just a few yards off of the beach and find a washroom.
The wind can be cold so it is good to have a windbreaker on.
