The Capital

Paris is the biggest city and the Capital of France. is situated on the river Seine, in northern France. Actually the city seems to have changes very little over the years, you can almost close your eyes and imagine what it must have been like years and years ago. Its a very romantic city with lots and lots to do.
Paris is very popular with tourists and I saw many hundreds of tourists in my time there.

Everyone in Paris was very friendly to me and I had no problems with language as most people spoke English.
Everyone was very helpful. city maps are available and they make it quite easy to get around.
Food stalls and cheaper eateries are everywhere. Paris does not HAVE to be expensive, if you shop around you can eat quite cheaply. ( Especially in Montmatre area)

There is so much to see in Paris that I would never try to do it without a bus tour on my first trip, after a bus tour you get the feel of the city and can then do your own public transport thing. The street markets are a joy to visit with lots of things from various cultures being on sale.
