Podham lies a couple of miles north of
Bled and is where you can visit Vintgar Gorge - one of the most popular natural features in Slovenia. Here, the Radovna River cuts a deep gorge between the hills of Hom and Borst. It was only discovered in 1891 by Jakob Žumer, the Major of Gorje and Benedikt Lergetporer, a cartographer and photographer from Bled.
After you've visited the gorge, you can walk up the Hom hill and visit the small pilgrimage church of St Catherine which lies on the hill's summit near the village of Zasip.
