"Pattaya - Sun, sea and sin" Pattaya by Willettsworld

Pattaya is a popular tourist resort on the North Gulf Coast of Eastern Thailand, located 150km south-east of Bangkok. It's most famous for its go-go and beer bars, but local authorities have made efforts to provide more family-friendly attractions and activities, and specialist conference and golfing facilities. Although the sex industry is still going strong in Pattaya, the resort also attracts local families and holidaymakers from far and wide.

Pattaya Beach is 3km long and bordered by Beach Road. Due to its central location and extreme proximity to several hundred hotels, and because it's a relatively narrow strip of sand, it's crowded at the best of times (and even more so at high tide). But Pattaya is more about its nightlife than the beach. Walking Street is a famous and vibrant part of the city of Pattaya and runs from the south end of Beach Road to the Bali Hai Pier, and there are entrance arches at either end. The street is traffic-free at night, from 6pm to 2am, and this is where most of the action in Pattaya happens. There are go-go (dancing girls) bars, beer bars, discothèques, sports bars, posh seafood restaurants and night clubs - you name it, it's here. Coloured neon signs and girls with happy-hour/drink special offer boards entice you into various establishments of differing tastes. If live music's your scene, then you'll hear plenty along this street. Even if you're not into what this street is synonymous for, it still has to be sampled just to see what happens here.
