International Friendship Exhibition

Myohyangsan, (meaning 'mountain of mysterious fragrance'), is a mountain range about 100 miles (160km) northeast of Pyongyang. The area is famed for being the location of the International Friendship Exhibition - two huge partly underground palaces filled with over 100,000 gifts from over 150 countries to both Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il. The mountain area is said to be very beautiful but we only saw a glimpse of it whilst visiting the Exhibition and the nearby 11th century Pohyon Temple.
