Kowloon Travel Guide: 303 reviews and 858 photos

Kowloon is at the end of the peninsula that points southwards towards Hong Kong Island, where the best views of the island can be seen. I found Kowloon to be a fascinating place as it's full of contrasts with many opulent hotels, such as the landmark Peninsula and Sheraton, and shopping malls like the SOGO and New World Centre but then it has the infamous Chungking and Mirador mansions which are at the far budget end of the scale for everything - accommodation, shops and food. It's full of high-rise apartments that are squashed in together but then has lungs in the form of Kowloon Park which is very neat and tidy. It's also home to several museums such as the Science Museum, Art Museum, Space Museum and History Museum as well as Hong Kong's most famous markets such as the Temple Street Night Market, Electronics Market and Jade Market.

Great page on Kowloon, Willett. I'm heading there tomorrow on my first trip to East Asia, and I think all make good use of your tips during my siteseeing. Mikey_e
