It is a place that has maintained magic. The area is know for its many salt mines, where they have dated mines as far back as over 2000 years. When you arrive at the train stop to Hallstatt, a ferry takes guests across the deep lake over to the picturesque town. Once in town, enjoy fresh fish, wonderful sausages, and delicious potatoes.

I highly recommend this place for those seeking relaxation and quiet.
You can walk through town, and also hike up the mountain behind you, where at the top, you can visit the Salt mine museum.
