Take the "Kodama" express because it stops at Odawara station. "Hikari"and "Nozomi" DO NOT stop at Odawara. Therefore BE CAREFUL only to take the "Kodama" express from any location..

The Super Express (Shinkansen)" Kodama" from Tokyo station (JR) to Odawara station leaves every 30 minutes.

Departures leave from platforms #14-19. There are ONLY2 stops between Tokyo and Odawara Shinagawa and Shin-Yokohama.

Reservations are not required on the Super Express "Kodama in Ordinary Class".

However, within the "kodama" train, you can reserve more expensive seating in the Green (1st class) car. Both reserved (cars #8 through 12) and unreserved seating (cars # 1 through 7) is available in Kodama Ordinary Class. It takes 35 minutes to go from Tokyo to Odawara station.
