Tabor was founded by the Hussite followers as a fortified military settlement in 1420. It's an interesting town still surrounded by medieval fortifications and a labyrinth of underground passages under the main square. Our hotel "Hotel Dvorak" was originally the castle brewery(open window was our room) |
Hussite Museum If you visit Tabor a must see is the Hussite Museum. The museum includes the types of weapons used/invented to fight the crusaders, dioramas, a scaled down copy of the Equestrian statue of Zizka and other artworks and maps just as interesting. Also accessed from inside the museum is the entrance to the underground tunnels which run under the main square. |
| Water chateau of Cervena Lhota |
Cervena Lhota A short drive from Tabor is this lovely chateau. When they say they run English guided tours, they actually mean they give you an English transcript with a guide that opens the doors for you. |
