The N-th Paradise in Asia? | One of the many ceremonies I ran into |
The travel brochures for tropical islands would always say xx is the paradise of Asia, bla bla bla... I don't know for sure how many paradise(s) we have here in Asia, but Bali is very much one of the many paradises in Aisa! *LOL* But most paradises (or should I say tropical/exotic islands) in this part of the world would boast of long, white sandy beaches, sun, corals, sea and waves. Bali has all that, and on top of that, it has a soul too! Hindu culture, which is very much weaved into every fabric of the Balineses' daily lives. Bali has everything you want from your holiday, the food there is good, and more importantly, it's much cheaper compared to KL. A meal in a decent restaurant, with better than average setting/ambience cost me less than half of what I usually pay in KL. |
| Where is my sunset? Tanah Lot |
Dude, Where is my sunset? Seen a lot of splendid sunset/sunrise pictures before I got my tickets to Bali, but to much of my disappointment, I don't get any of that when I was there, for a start, it rained most of the day I was there (Later, was told it's rainy season in Bali in January.). In fact, it rained so much that my LP Guide was soaking wet in my backpack and I was drenched to my toes in my sneakers! Well, guess this give me all the more reason to go back to Bali! (As you can see from the picture, Tanah Lot was reduced to dark sillhoutte agaist a grey sky, and it was only around 6:30pm). |
Where to go in Bali? My itenerary for Bali is kinda haphazrd, I know the places I'm interested to go, but dunno, how/when to go when I was there. But I'm very much indebted to the many wonderful people I got to know through other friends in Bali. Though I left KLIA all by myself, I never felt alone when I was in Bali. Thanks to the wonderful company I'd in Bali. With the the help of my guide, Jacobs/Walter/Lady Susu (whatever you want to call it), which soon become my bud, I spent my 1st half day in South Bali (Seminyak, Legian, Kuta) and left for Ubud (on bike) in the afternoon. Spent 3D2N there (wish could stay longer there). Coming back to Seminyak for another nite and leaving for Lovina for 2D1N, (should have left for Lovina from Ubud, but....) and spent the rest of the remaining days in Seminyak. Missed out on East Bali this time around, most notably Amed. It seems 8 days in Bali is just not enough. Well, I'm saving it for another time. |
