I'm glad I had a chance to visit Auckland. It's a must see country for sure! Easy to get around on foot or bus. Unfortunately there's no rail system, unless I blinked and missed it. This country is definitely a haven for walkers and hikers, this you will do a lot of! The city could be covered in one day, so plan a trip elsewhere like neighboring cities or islands (Waiheke). This island was the best surprise I gave myself and new friends I'd made on my second visit to Auckland. Short on traveling days this time around, I knew I had to leave the city. Then, I found Waiheke island in a brochure I had. The island was perfectly situated 30-45 minutes from Auckland. The island contained everything I had ever dreamt of. A perfect hostel called Hekerua Lodge is nestled in a wooded area where the hike to it was such a unique experience for me. The hike around the island can lead you to beautiful vineyards, forest trails, and beaches. Pictures to be added soon!!!
