Gudagay

This page is about a small place called Gudagay in the region Hrodyenskaya Voblasts' in Belarus. Since it is not a VT destination, I have put it here in the Hrodyenskaya Voblasts' section. I should have removed the last sentence now, since Brad found out that the name of the place is spelled Gudogay, and it IS a VT destination of it's own. But I simply love to write "Hrodyenskaya Voblasts'" ! And it still is in Hrodyenskaya Voblasts :-)

It is the story of how (from left to right on the picture) poons, bradbrown, BodX, cachaseiro, Razmatac and (not in the picture) Backpackermoose and myself ended up in this yet not very well known place, and how we spent the 3 - 4 hours there before the armed guards escorted us onto the train back to Vilnius.

Be prepared for cold weather

Winter boots

Belarus is a very cold place in winter. You should be prepared for temperatures below -20 C. BodX' boots were not warm enough, mine made of tangled wool were better! But then, I am Norwegian and used to temperatures like that ;-)

As you can see, the information from / about the county Osjmjanskaya is very good and detailed. Unfortunately my belorussian is not very good, thus I have found some information from the catholic church in Grodno Region (Hrodyenskaya Voblasts') on the web:

I'm glad you all kept your humor, and were able to eat and drink and visit w/ a local as you passed your time in the station ...note to self: don't listen to others, keep packing that toilet paper ;)
