Shopping center

Shopping center entrance
Tangen is a small place in Sannidal in the municipality of Kragerø. 190 km from Oslo, 132 km from Kristiansand, it is a good place for a pitstop.

Turn off E18 at Sannidal/Levang sign. If you come from Oslo, it is 4 - 5 km after the Kragerø exit, coming from Kristiansand it is the first exit after Brokelandsheia tollbooth (NB! The tollboth is NOT in Brokelandsheia, but in Gjerstad!). Turn left on the first intersection and drive over E18, take first right and then left into the parking lot of the shopping center Volum.

If you want to visit my train station Brøsjø, turn right instead of left at the first intersection, drive 13 km and you are there :-)

Tangen is also a good starting point for the scenic route over the mountains to Stavanger, I will write a travelogue about that sooner or later. In the meantime: Drive past Brøsjø and Neslandsvatn until you come to road no 38, turn left and follow 38 until Holtebru, turn left onto 45 and follow 45 until you get back onto E18 by Ålgård south of Sandnes. (In Setesdalen road no 45 is physically the same as road 9 for 10 km, turn left when you come to road 9, and right when the two roads split up again.)
Bus terminal

Communications center

All express buses between Oslo and Kristiansand / Stavanger stop here, as do the buses between Kragerø and Drangedal, Porsgrunn and other destinations in the area.

Right across the street from the bus terminal there is a gas station, which lies between the two parts of the shopping center.
Chinese restaurant

Hungry?

There is a coffeeshop by the supermarket in the Volum center, and this chinese restaurant on the roof of the other shopping center building.
