Entering Zambia was a lot quicker than entering Zimbabwe! At 08:10 the paperwork was done, and we were ready to move on to our Zambezi adventure. We should have visited Luangwa National Parks, too. But due to heavy rainfall another group had gotten stuck in the mud, and we were advised to omit it. After a short discussion the group decided to follow the advice.
Except from Zambezi, we only made a short stop in Lusaka to get supplies, and headed for Malawi. |
| | Zambezi River Who would believe that this is the same river we saw throwing itself over the edge at Victoria Falls and rushing through the gorge beneath?! |
| Elephants on the shore, Zambezi |
| | Closer to wildlife We had already been quite close to wildlife on a couple of occasions, but this was something special. As we were gliding quietly along the river, we got really close to hurds of elephants, hippos and crocodiles. |

Kid-A Fri Jul 11, 2008 07:06 UTC Great page! I didn't venture out on the Zambezi, preferring to relax in comfort instead at the Zambezi Sun :) Greetings from Germany, Brian | Trekki Fri Jan 26, 2007 07:29 UTC Wow what an adventure !!! Although I love canoeing - I would never be brave enough to do it among hippos and crocs, not even with guides.... too much afriad of enter the mouth of a yawning hippo ;-))) | mtncorg Sun Oct 30, 2005 05:49 UTC I have heard that the Zambesi is not to be missed!
