Levoca is often referred as the ‘jewel of the Spis crown’. Originating in the 13th century, Levoca was settled and built up by German colonists and dislocated Slavic peasants. The town soon became prosperous thanks to its convenient location on key trade routes, eventually blossoming into the most important trading.

evaanna Wed May 27, 2009 20:14 UTC We loved Levoca too but when we were there many of the houses looked neglected. Your accommodation sounds great, we might use it someday. We visited yet another restaurant and thought it was super too. | matcrazy1 Tue Sep 26, 2006 22:47 UTC This unknown city is really very charming. I stopped there twice as for now and liked it a lot. | barryg23 Fri Sep 15, 2006 18:59 UTC Nice pictures of Levoca. Did you make it to the church on the hill? |
