Slana Voda

We entered Slovkia on highway 521 and arrived in Oravska Polhora, an almost neverending village along the road. Just before the end of the village we turned left to Slana Voda, a hamlet at the foot of the Babia Hora Mountains. This house would be our cottage for one week. 03-07-2005

Slana Voda means "Salt Water". In the woods, at 200 meters from the Inn "Chata Slana Voda" is a mineral well that gives warm, salt water. Jan Herud, owner of Slana Voda offered us a glass.
Thanks Jan, the taste was awful, but also thanks for all the other drinks that tasted better...........
Hope to come back here !!

At 18.00 h this horse obviously refused to work any longer. I could not blame the animal! 04-07-2005
