The church | Clervaux - the church, 03-10-2005 |
When entering Clervaux. the first thing you see is the big church with its two towers. This church, which was build in a romain-rheanan style in the years 1910-1912, represents the concrete of research and even remenbrance of a cultivated man, the prominent mayor Emile Prum. |

| | Clervaux - the abbey The second remarkable place is the abbey, high above the town. The valley is majesticaly dominated by the benedictic St. Maurice abbey. The construction goes back to the years 1909, 1910 here you will find an interresting exposition of the customs and sacred rites. The priests of St. Maurice had a life of prayers and seclusion in spirit dictated by the rules of Saint Benedict. |
Clervaux - the castle When you come near the church, at once you see this little white castle. The old castle built in the 12th century, dominates the view by its imposing mass and has witnessed a millenia of prestige and power of the count of Clervaux. During the Battle of the Bulge (December 1944), a fire ravaged the castle, which was completely restored afterwards. Now it houses the local authority offices of Clervaux village, the museum of models of Luxembourg castles (very interesting!), a museum about the Battle of the Bulge and a photographic exhibition; "The Family of Man". | | | Clervaux - the castle, 03-10-2005 |
