"Perfect Weather ......Sunny California" Santa Barbara by SONG

The current Santa Barbara Airport is undergoing much renovation, improving its usefulness to the arriving and departing passengers.
I loved the Spanish archetecture of the current building, with its gorgeous white exterior, typical California plants, pottery, and small
airport accessibility. You are not rushed through the security, and I even was "chased down" when I accidentally left a valuable pearl ring in the plastic bin while going through security. Only in a small airport would
the security agents manage to catch a small ring being left behind and even more figure out WHO had left it. Even though it is a small , local airport, it still offers the bookstores and small restaurants that you might wish to frequent while awaiting your departure. If you are visiting Santa Barbara, you might wish to fly into this airport even though it is more expensive than flying into the larger Los Angeles. The traffic, 100 mile commute from L.A. rental car, and perhaps overnight accommodations in LA in order to guarantee that you will be in LA early in the morning for a morning flight all were more of a hassle for me than the extra cost of the airline ticket directly into Santa Barbara. The airport iself is only 15 or so minutes into town.
