"FLORIDA----THE SUNSHINE STATE" a Florida Travel Page by SONG

Florida is known as the Sunshine State (every American state has some motto associated with it.) And Florida is also known for a great retirement state, a fabulous state for its MILES of beaches, and absolutely great year-round weather. On the flip side, we do have some negatives. When anyone comes for a visit, they almost always ask IF we have any alligators. WEll dah........I say. "if it is Florida and water is anywhere nearby, there are alligators." That being said, it is a VERY rare occurence if an alligator attacks anyone/anything (like a dog). Just as with the rare airline crash which kills hundreds of people , even though millions of people fly safely each year without any problem, it is always the rare and infrequent occurence which grabs the headlines. We also have mosquitos, lizards "by the millions" , and humid weather. BUT the positives outweigh the negatives by a far shot. Ever wonder why so many people are daily moving INTO Florida? On the positive side we also have NO personal income tax. No matter where you live in the state, even in the middle/central part , you are never more than a maximum of 2 hours to a beach!!!! YEAH. I can be at the beach in one hour. Heaven on earth!!!
What more could anyone ask for? Guess "the kid in me" is showing.
Anyway, I don't have any photos to post at this time of Florida, but if you
look at my homepage, I do have a couple photos posted. I will try to add some interesting Florida pics later. In the meantime, close your eyes, imagine yourself on a sunny, warm beach, and relax. Just another day in paradise.
P.S. Don't forget.....we also have Wally World....aka Walt Disney World. Talk about a Number One travel destination for families!!!
