Off The Beaten Path: A drive to heaven! - Ceres
  • Tip Rating:
  • It was on a beautiful sunday morning when my friend and i decided to go for a long drive to Ceres. We were new in Cape Town, so we were keen to explore everything and anything.
We drove to Ceres, not expecting to discover one of the most beautiful spots that i've ever seen! The Kagga Kama private game Reserve.
Arriving there we were both tired, because the road to the reserve was rather bumpy, to say the least. I think we needed a 4x4, but we did not know all this. All we wanted to do was explore, and there was no turning back!
    Our first impression was fascination......
It felt like we were in heaven! The blue skies were so close, it felt like we could touch it. In contrast to that ,were the formation of rocks, probably thousands of years old, and the dry desert land with spread out bushes made us feel proud that this wonderful piece of land is in Southern Africa, and so near Cape Town.
After driving for what seemed like miles we found our oasis. A wonderful bar where we indulged in bread baked on coals, and refreshing drinks. Up to this day, my friend still talks about that delicious bread! We also got to see the swimming pool area, and the tiny huts where tourists can stay .These huts i believe, were designed in the same way as the original huts where the bushmen lived many years ago. There is also an hotel. Kagga Kamma is home to the bushmen. A destination not to be missed by any tourist who seeks that very special peace and magic. Not excluding.....heaven!!!

There is a beautiful picture, and more, on this site and you will be able to see what i am trying to say!

Cape Point / Cape Aghulus: L'Agulhas- My "Little Cape Town"

  • I have said so much about L'Agulhas, better known as Cape Agulhas on my Intro page and my hotel and accomodation page, what I have left out, is that I nicknamed this wonderful stretch of land as my "Little Cape Town", without the noise, traffic jams, etc. Also because
it has a little mountain, little fishing harbour, hikes and trails, whale watching and above all........Peace and quiet!!

    Beaches: A drive to Stellenbosch.
  • Tip Rating:
  • Cape Town Beaches
  • Mountain, Ocean and earth.

  • For most tourist, this route to Stellenbosch is almost unspoken of. Yet. it is here that the most breathtaking view of ocean, mountain and earth can be seen. The Wolfgat Nature Reserve is also in this area, and although I have never had the opportunity to explore the Reserve, I believe that it is very interesting.
There is also a whale lookout point in this area. I have enclosed a map for directions .Please open the link of my pictures.
