Hartebeespoort Dam was one of my favourite destinations in the Johannesburg area.
The entrance of the dam fascinated me, being the an exact miniature replica of The Arc d'Triomph in Paris, France. |

|  | Johannesburg. The Name of this province is Gauteng meaning "Place of Gold" in Sotho.
Rightly so, because most of the wealth in this province came from this precious metal. Johannesburg is a hub of activity and is also known as the gateway to South Africa, and boast with Johannesburg International Airport rated the best airport in Africa. To the rest of the South Africans not living in Johannesburg, this amazing city will not always be regarded as being the industrial city. They will know that this is "where the big things are happening".
Shopping, dining, entertainment are always on the "menu" here.
