I was born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Often known as the "windy city", P.E. is also known as South Africa's "best kept secret" as a holiday destination. Another name this small city is referred to is 'The friendly city".
Anyone who has travelled from Cape Town to P.E. along the Garden Route will tell you how enjoyable this drive is. You will drive through lovely little towns such as Knysna, Plettenberg Bay (where most South Africans take their annual summer break i.e. Dec -Jan), and many more little towns. The scenery along this drive is spectacular. The drive is about eight hours long. Very enjoyable. So is Port Elizabeth.
