| Rhodes, the Island of the Sun |
Rhodes is an island situated in the south-eastern corner of the Aegean Sea.
It is the largest island of the Dodecanese Islands.
The capital of the island is Rhodes City.
Rhodes has a length of 78 km and a width of 38 km.
On the surface of the island a population of 90,000 inhabitants live.

The whole island has an interesting history, and a lot of ancient remains.
The ruins of the old fortresses of the island, the new constructions, the wonderfully harbours, the crystal clear sea water, the beautifully sand beaches and the whole traditional life on the island give it an extraordinary charm.
|
The Island of the Sun is the paradise on the earth, a green and warm place, for the people that live here and for the many tourists. The number of days of sunshine is 300 per year.
This is a look for the natural world of the island.
The mild climate and the sunshine on the island create an agreeable ambiance for the cultivation of vineyards, citrus fruits and garden vegetable.
The many olive trees, the colourfully flowers, and the much vegetation make possible a great production of honey on the island.
