Vienna is, for many visitors and tourists, a very important city.
Visiting Vienna is a pleasure, but living here is a real privilege.
The city has 1,600,000 inhabitants, on a surface of 415 sq km.
The official language in Vienna,
just like in the unmitigated Austria, is German.
Every time when I go to the city, I am exactly as enthusiastic and curious,
as 18 years ago, when we came here.
Here you can go for a walk in the middle of the night
and be as fearless as if you would take a walk in the middle of the day.

Mariahilfer Street is a good place for a middle-class tourist, like Oxford Street in London or Yonge Street in Toronto. But the real elegant shopping street in Vienna is Kärntner Street, between Stephanplatz and Karlsplatz. | felime Thu May 28, 2009 12:30 UTC
