Favorite Thing: The Piazzetta lies between the Basilica and the lagoon. It was erected 1537, after Plans Sansovinos, precisely at the moment, since Venice made a name of pressure and book metropolis for itself. Each visitor of Piazzetta gets there, a first impression of the shine and splendour of the republic. The Doges Palace opposite, the Biblioteca Marciana arises, that belongs today, to the Museo Civico Correr. The columns at the water come from the 12th century. The winged lion, on the first pillar, is Persian or Syrian origin. On the other column stands a statue of the sacred Theodor, the first protection patron of the city.

Favorite Thing: Palazzo Barbano is an edifice in Gothic style. It was built middle of the fifteenth century. Palazzo Dario was built in the year 1487. It was a building for Giovanni Dario, secretary of the republic in Constantinople. The original construction was shaped in Gothic style. Later, Pietro Lombardo created a renaissance façade to the palace.

Favorite Thing: The Palace Barbarigo, situated at the corner between the Canale Grande and the Campo San Lio, was built in the 16th century. The original frescos on the façade were destroyed along the time and remained none of them. The actually cover-up of the palace was shaped in the 19th century, after the cartons of Giulio Carlini. The paintings and the mosaics on the frontal site of the edifice were created by the artists Giorgione, Tizian, Pordenone, Tintoretto and Veronese. Vaporetto Station: San Stae

Favorite Thing: The beautiful palace was built in the year 1442 in Gothic style. The old façade of the edifice has some peculiarities in contrast to other building near to it. The arcade windows are a superb architectural conception, with white ornamental elements, a real art piece. In the courtyard of the palace there is an external stairway that makes the connection between the three floors of the building.

Favorite Thing: This palace is a very big edifice that was the residence of the Archduke Friedrich of Austria. He deceased here, in this house in the year 1836. The superb building is a masterwork of architecture and an important part of the whole architectural ambiance of the city. You can look at the imposing construction, from the Accademia Bridge. From here you have a superb view of it.
